Six of us, senior family members, really enjoyed our Sunday roast.Five had the Beef,one had Chicken. A really generous portion of beef and a good selection of veg all cooked just right. The staff were pleasant too. Six very happy people.

Had a lovely meal here for five of us. Varied menu with plenty of choice, we all had different starters so we could have a little taste of each. Had pate but would have happily tucked into the creamed mushrooms and camembert too. Main courses were beautifully presented and much enjoyed by us all. The service was excellent and will be coming back again. A real gem!

Had a great meal here, best chicken saltimbocca sauce I’d ever tried. My wife claimed her salad was a lifetime best as well. All in all, vastly better than the usual pub chain fare but at pretty much the same prices. Service was excellent too, waitress Victoria deserves special mention for her warmth, efficiency, and for putting up with my jokes.

Went to The Grouse and Ale for a Saturday Lunch and very impressed. Steak was perfectly cooked with all the trimmings, Cod and chips was excellent. Service was attentive and prompt. Really could not fault The Grouse and Ale. Highly recommended and looking forward to another visit.

We dropped in for lunch just before it finished for the day but this had no bearing on our food – Chicken Clubs and a portion of their triple cooked chips to share – all wonderful. So impressed we called in for dinner a couple of nights later – again faultless. Highly recommend.

I just wanted to let you know that I absolutely love your establishment in Lane End. Last night was the second time I have visited in the space of a couple of weeks, and both times the food has been beautifully cooked. I am thrilled to find such a wonderful restaurant within driving distance to my home. I will be revisiting and have told everyone who will listen about you.

I just wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU to you and all your staff for making Julian’s surprise party a wonderful success. Please personally thank Igor as he was absolutely amazing and nothing was too much trouble. Also thank Kevin because the food was wonderful.

It was the first of our Christmas celebrations and everyone had a great time and wanted me to let you know, I think this must be our third year now and we have not been let down. I know some of the girls stayed to enjoy the dancing, a few sore feet the next day.

We want to thank you, the chef and all the staff at the Grouse & Ale who made my party so memorable. The food was delicious and the service excellent. All of our guests were very impressed. Thank you for a lovely day.

Just got home after spending just under 2 hours having a wonderful warm and relaxed lunch with you all. As usual the food was 100% delicious and the service is second to none! We will be back!!!
